Life Shifts: Adjust and Adapt

For those of us in the U.S., daylight savings time ended a week ago. The clock change meant it was light an hour earlier in the morning and, conversely, dark an hour earlier in the evening. Just like that. No gradual change. No time to adjust.

It throws me off for at least a few weeks. Come on, admit it. It is a bit jarring to have this artificially created time change twice a year. Southern Arizona, where I happily lived for a few decades, does not have daylight savings time. Never. Ever.

This contrived time shift we have imposed on ourselves since the early 1960s to conserve energy got me thinking. As much as I dislike this seasonal clock-change ordeal – yes, I absolutely despise it – life is about change and adjusting to those changes. So, while my body doesn’t react well at first to the time switch, it eventually adapts, and I can relish surviving yet another human-created time transition.

What about you? How do you react to time variances or whatever distortions to your daily routine life brings? Whatever methods you use, staying calm and grounded is a must. You can also use the following rocks and minerals to help adjust and adapt to whatever life brings:

  • Lepidolite – this light purple or pink mica calms and helps maintain good mental health
  • Labradorite – the “aurora borealis” stone helps ease anxiety and stress
  • Chrysocolla – often found with malachite, both stones have the power to bring on calmness and strength of character
  • Angelite – this stone of acceptance and spiritual peace can help you adjust to anything
  • Black Tourmaline -- protects against fear and negativity that change may bring and helps balance energies

You can adapt and adjust to any of life’s shifts and twists. Always.

Keep on rockin’ it every day.
